Volunteer Opportunity: Mayoral Elections

The Voting Counts website seeks to help people become engaged and informed about elections by providing politically neutral information about the how the decisions made by politicians affect our lives.

The website is viewed by hundreds of thousands of unique visitors, and is regularly featured in the national media.

Although elections have been postponed until 2021, they are looking for volunteers to help them produce content on the following Mayors;

  • Greater Manchester
  • Liverpool City Region
  • Tees Valley
  • West Midlands
  • Bristol
  • Liverpool
  • Salford

The suggested content structure for each of these profiles includes;

  • Responsibilities of the Mayor
  • Who can vote in these elections? (Geographical area covered and eligibility)
  • Why is voting in this election important?
  • Who are the candidates? (Name/Party/Link)
  • Plus anything else you think would be helpful for new voters to know!

The content they create must be politically neutral, simple, and informative. All volunteers are fully credited for their work, and references they are happy to supply references for those that have contributed to their website.

If you would be interested in working on any of this content, then please email contact@votingcounts.org.uk outlining which mayoral profile you’d like to work on (you can do just one or a few!)
